Standard Definition XVID/DIVX

I love this player save for one issue - standard defintion Xvid rips! I’m not sure what the techinical term is, but video playback seems pixelated during scenes with any sort of motion. They seems very aliased and it makes dark scenes with movement look almost unwatchable. What’s supposed to be 480p quality feels like 240p from youtube! I’m not sure if there’s a setting or a firmware bug maybe? My old 4 year old Mediagate MG350 did a much better job with the same files, connected to the same Vizio screen with playback looking indistinguishable from the original DVD. Why does this otherwise awesome WDtv do so poorly with SD content? Has anyone else experienced this with their Xvid/Divx videos? Is this normal?

The files in question is mostly:

MPEG-4 (Xvid) 624x352, 23.976023 fps with Stereo MPEG audio

or

MPEG-4 (Xvid) 720x304 23.97600 fps with AC3 6channel audio

Please post the full TEXT output of MEDIAINFO for such a file.
