Speed degradation on large files?

I connected  the player to my PC using corss-cable into Gigabit adapter.

When I copy small files (up to 300mb) the speed averages at 6MB/sec. So far so good.

BUT, when I copy large files (6GB) the speed lineary decreases, so that after 5GB are copied, the rest 1GB is copied with a speed of about 2MB/sec. For 15GB file the speed falls down to 1MB/sec and even slower.

It seems that write speed of the player depends on a size of already written data.  So coping all my home HD videos there is an endless process.

Does anybody else experience a similar problem?

P.S. I’ve googled out a similar topic for WD TV player + external USB drive, so that people used larger unit allocation size for the filesystem to solve this problem. Is it applicable for WD TV Live Hub?

Maybe you should try contacting WD’s Technical Support about this. You can do so either by phone or email.
