Software Update Failure now unable to use drive

WD sent me a message to update my Passport Software, so I attempted to follow the instructions. NOW it tells me that WDDM Service is not running and I cannot access the drive.

I have tried to re-install the upgrade and there has been no change. I have attempted to find WDDM and the only thing I find in searching my computer is 2009/2012.

I am using Windows 8 on an HP Laptop.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling WD smartware latest version.

How to uninstall WD SmartWare Version 2.2.x and earlier from Windows (8, 7, Vista, or XP) and Mac OSX (10.4, 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7)
