Have 4 My Passport Ultra metal Edition. Having a lot of problems with the software. I wanted to remove the password protection on one of the drives but the directions in the manual did not tract withe software installed. called tech support they suggested installed the latest Smartware ver. Downloaded update for WD Smartware. Unable to install can not find WD SMARTWARE SETUP(X64).MSI. File not on computer. Suggestions
You should be able to install WD SmartWare with all your hard drives disconnected.
Try disconnecting all your WD Passports and downloading the file from the following link:
