the smartware software/app just stopped working one day. ive downloaded and updated every driver i can find. then i tried to uninstall, but it says that it cant be uninstalled cause files are still in use even though when i try to open the program it says that it isnt installed. the hard drives still work, but i cant set up the auto back up or security or anything like that. ive tried support once, but that was a big waste of time, im thinking it was just the person i spoke to. thanks in advance.
If this is a Windows computer, you need to open Task Manager pressing CTRL+ALT+DELETE at the same time and verify all the processes active are terminated, after that try to uninstall the software again and then reset the computer, after that download and install the drive from the WD web site on the link below.
