Slow transfer - network gigabit

I have a WD ShareSpace 8TB (firmware updated to ver. 2.3.01), connect to a network gigabit:

  • pcs with network board gigabit

  • switch gigabit

  • cable cat 6

But…

If I transfer a file from a pc to pc, the speed is 90 MBps.

If I transfer a file form a pc to WD ShareSpace the speed is 12 MBps.

Someone can help me or recommend a guide to solve the problem?

If you transfer many small files from a pc to WD ShareSpace the speed is 1 MBps.

That is actually a problem you can’t do anything about. Sharespace is slow. Very slow. And WD does not give a sh*t as you can see by multiple posts in this forum.

The guide to solve the problem is very simple:

  1. Trash the WD ShareSpace

  2. Buy any other NAS box that was not made by WD

There is, however, no way of solving your problem without step 2.

I spent far less on a linux box of my own creation.  If you like to learn and tinker, it’s the way to go.  Although, it was before the Taiwan hard drive crisis.  Go elsewhere if you have a chance.
