Just purchased an 8TB G-Drive with Thunderbolt 3. I have a Twelve South BackPack mounted on my iMac’s stand, and it’s currently holding a couple of smaller external drives. This new drive will replace those. Will it be OK to stand this G-Drive on its side, using the stabilizing pegs provided with the BackPack? Just wanting to know if there are any known issues with standing these drives on their sides. Thanks!
It will be fine, just make sure the front and back are not blocked. Airflow assists in the cooling of the drive.
