Shutting down My Cloud Home and Services Integrity

Since the My Cloud home does not have any energy plan or standby mode I am wondering if it is safe to remotely shut it down via the app and then restart it manually when needed without losing the “data” movies and pictures in plex and the setup of the plex server.

Will all service be restarted and working correctly after shutdown and restart? I currently have the TV and plex service running.

From reading other threads it seems there is an issue with plex starting correctly after reboot or shut down. WD staff has confirmed that they are looking into the issue but do not currently have any date when a fix may be released. other data and services do not seem to be affected.

Ok, so I guess it will have to stay on 24/7. I hope WD and Plex come to a fix quickly as the drive will be on and not used…
