Should I even update my new SSDs firmware

I just purchased a Western Digital blue 1tb SSD from Amazon. I also downloaded the WD software to get a look at it before the ssds got here. is it really worth it to update the ssd Firmware it when it gets here. the reason I ask is because I don’t think it’s worth it, if I brick it. is it a way to unbrick it by doing some type of power cycle if I F it up?

I have the wireless SSD and it can check for new firmware and download and install it and I have done so w/ no problem.

No problems here when updating firmware on three different WD Blue SSDs. Keep in mind the reason WD updates it is because of bugs they’ve found or enhancements they made. So you might end up with a brick by NOT updating it!
