Can I attach and image directly from My Cloud Home to a text message or WhatsApp or messenger?

Image and video on the MCH can be ‘OPEN IN’ menu option in AirDrop, Messages, Mail and a host of other apps in iOS.

The built in iOS ‘Files’ file manager can also use MCH as a ‘LOCATION’ to browse and manipulate files and folders.

You can’t directly attach an image from your My Cloud Home to a text message, WhatsApp, or Messenger in the same way you would from your phone’s gallery or camera roll. However, you can access and share images stored on My Cloud Home through a few steps:

  1. Access the My Cloud Home app: Open the My Cloud Home app on your phone or computer.
  2. Find the image: Browse or search for the image you want to share.
  3. Download the image: Download the image to your device (phone or computer).
  4. Share: Once the image is on your device, you can attach and send it via text message, WhatsApp, or Messenger as you would with any other photo.

Alternatively, if the My Cloud Home app offers a share option, you could directly share a link to the image, but it would depend on the specific app features.

Although this is the My Cloud Home (MCH) ideas or suggestion forum and not the support subforum, this subject of iOS sharing has been mentioned many times before.

Apple iOS has a built in Files app for file managing on the iPhone and iPad which allows anything that can be uploaded from Files app to be shared with linked apps such as iMessage and others. The Files app can also use third party cloud storage such as MCH as ‘Locations’ to be added and accessed from Files app.
