Share access permissions

hello - please advise me

In dashboard - setting access permissions for shares.

when I click on a share on the left (say ‘George’)

and the ‘user access’ boxes come up with the list of users:

  • if I select No Access does this mean that ‘George’ cannot access those user folders

OR’

-does that mean those users cannot access ‘George’

??

It means George cannot access the *share*. The rights are at the share level, not the folders in the share.

Of course, if the selected share is the one that the NAS created automatically for George, then you would prevent George to access the George share, but George can still access the other shares.
