Settings from a remote computer

I need to add users to a My Book Live in Florida but I’m in Connecticut.

Unless you had set up a VPN on the MBL previously so that you could remote access the UI of the MBL, then you are not going to be able to do this.  The UI is only accessible locally for a very good reason - security.

Thanks, I’ll just have the drive sent to me here, change want I need, and send it back.

If you have someone locally, you can do a webex/join.me/Mikogo remote session or any other software on a PC, gain control of remote dersktop and from there manage MBL.

Personally I have used Mikogo and Webex in the past.

I’m just going to add the new user to my drive here and copy the files from the Florida drive. It will probably take the same amount of time (copying files vs shipping the drive here and back), cost less, and be safer.

hmmm… Just wondering if my point actually made any sense, just in case…

  • Set mikogo meeting and have both join: 10-15mins

  • Control remote deskotp: 1min

  • Log into MBL and create new user: 5mins

  • Done

but yeah. coping the data across the WAN is an option.
