Security software incompatible for newer PC

I have a WD passport and used it on a windows 10 PC. I had automatic backup setup with the WD security software that comes with the drive. Now I am trying to use it on a newer PC with windows 11. However when I ran the installation software that came with the drive it no longer recognize the drive (it says not able to find a compatible WD drive)
Now I installed the latest software from wd website. However if I ran it it ask me to setup new password, ignoring the fact that the password has already been set up in the past. If I set up a new password, whatever was backed up on the external drive will be lost.
Is there anyway to recover the files that was previously backed up?
