Thinking of getting one of these
the 3TB works a treat via usb
Would the 4TB work too, or are we talking about specific fw update being required ?

That is a good question, the firmware update that allows to use drives bigger than 2 TB did not stated any limit in the drive size, but, if I were you, I will contact WD Tech support just to have an official response if a 4 TB drive is supported.
To Contact WD for Technical Support
Mine works just fine. At 3.1TB used, it can take a while to scan.
Thanks for the info Nokahn
Thats good news
I never got round to asking officially as you have to supply seriel number of your unit etc just to ask a simple question, which I didnt know off the top of my head
I recently purchased the 4tb seagate, however, when I connect it directly to the wdtv live plus it shows up as a media server with no media detected for playback. I can transfer the files directly to a 500gb and play with no problems, so the issue must lie with the 4tb hard drive. I have the latest firmware from b-rad (thanks for a great mod.). Does anyone have any ideas to make this work?

You should probably ask in the Live+ forum.

ahh, sorry, I didn’t see anything that identified this as being for a specific one, thanks for the direction and quick response though.
