Scheduled Backup Stopped Working

My Scheduled Backup stopped working My Passport Ultra connected to a Dell Win 10 Pro machine.
I cannot start a manual backup or access the settings tab.
I tried reinstalling the latest software, but when I want to create a new backup, it tells me to go to settings to edit a plan already in place, but I cannot access the settings tab.

The program is detecting your old backup within your hard drive. You’ll need to format your hard drive in order to start over.
