Sampling frequency of optical out

Hi all, I am a new bee here…

I just bought my WD TV live last week. I would like to know the sampling frequency of optical audio out from my WD TV live. I have a Sony home theatre system which has an optical audio in and will not accept the if the sampling frequency is more than 48 KHz. I have not purchased my optical cable yet and i wont if the sampling frequency is more than 48 KHz.

The user manual doesn’t say anything about the optical out sampling frequency.

Please help…

It’s 48 KHz, and people in here actually want it increased to 96 KHz.

 I just checked with the optical cable of my friend’s. It worked beautifully. so it should be 48 KHz.
