This is all marketing: WD wants to sell more more expensive devices… With almost same hardware, but full of functionality…

The removal of the shutdown button from the second gen single bay My Cloud Dashboard has been long complained about since that device was initially released. There are dozens of complaints both in this subforum and in the My Cloud Ideas subforum.
WD has not listen to the plee’s of the end users/customers, and instead long ago decided to close the issue and not fix it. Meanwhile the first gen v4.x My Cloud has the shutdown option in the Dashboard.

I complained on the only way I could, I’m buying Seagate drives. The red drive fiasco should make anyone think twice.
