I want to throw away my old (faulty) WD external drive but ensure that my data is removed first. I can’t see how to open the case.
These drives weren’t made to be field serviceable. Just pry the edges with a screwdriver or butter knife. You can then use your favorite hammer or power drill unless you just want to plug the drive into a PC and then reformat it a few times.
