Guys,
My hard drive turns on and off 3 times when i plug in to my pc. After that it is not being read by my pc. Is this hd broken? Is there a way i can retrieve data?

I assume this is a USB powered drive. Have you tried a different USB cable? Make sure you’re not using a cable longer than the original and don’t use a hub. Also use a port on the back of the PC if it’s a desktop. Did the drive come with Smartware? If so it’s hardware encrpyted so connecting as an internal is a waste of time. Opening the drive also voids the warranty.
