Using WD Smartware non pro edition 2.4.21.1
I set the retrieve folder to D:\Test_Restore. When I retrieve data to my computer a folder named C:\Test_Restore on the C drive is created and used.
Oh Boy.
AS I was told after spending 30 mins on tech phone support
“YOU CANNOT SPECIFY A RETRIEVE LOCATION OTHER THAN THE C DRIVE OF THE COMPUTER SMARTWARE IS INSTALLED ON”
WOW! - That’s seems a very basic functional requirement for the software.
I was encouraged to upgrade to the professional version but when I pressed to question if this would support writing to a user defined retrieve location the answer was no. I was told that the pro version would fix bugs… Holy cow!
So Sorry I bought western digital.
