Restoring backups to a new computer

I’m trying to restore backups from My Passport external hard drive (created using WD backup) to a new machine. I’m running into the same problem described here:

When I install WD Backup, then go to Restore, it says there are no files to restore even though the hard drive has the raw files on it. The solution described in that thread was to download the latest version of WD Backup. The problem is that it’s now 2023 and WD Backup is no longer available on WD’s website (I just happen to have an installer for it but not sure if it’s the latest version). Does anyone know another solution to make my version of WD backup see the files and let me restore them?
