Trying to help my sister make the move from a PC to a Mac Laptop. I’ve installed the Smartware software on the Mac. Initially before the install but after the unlock, the files that I assume were the backup folders on the drive did appear. Now that Smartware is installed, it says there is no partition available on the WD drive.
How do I help the Mac see those backed up PC files?

It is not possible to do both with this drive because it requires either NTFS (Windows) format, or Extended Journaled (MAC) format. The drive is not capable of doing FAT32 (DOS) format.
Your only real solution is to either purchase a network drive or a drive that will work in the FAT32 format, which is able to be utilized across multiple platforms (Operating Systems).
