Reset admin password only for WD MyCloud PR4100


We have an external storage device (WD MyCloud PR4100) that was fixed recently.

After we receive it, it took another IP address (the device is connected through DHCP) and we are unable to access admin user page.

Please assist us to reset the admin password “Only” without resetting the whole device, because many users in my workplace have saved their work in this device.

  1. Press and hold the reset button located on the back of the device for 4 seconds. The reset button is located to the left of the Ethernet port.
  2. The device will reboot and the power LED will start blinking. This process may take a few minutes.
  3. Once the power LED stops blinking and turns solid, the device has been reset to factory defaults.
  4. You can now log in to the device using the default admin account, which has no password. flixoid for mac
  5. Once logged in, you should immediately change the password for the admin account to a secure password of your choosing.

Does these steps reset only admin login or it will delete everything in the device?

I have many users saved their data in that devices, and it is risky to reset the device and delete all the users work.
