I have four WD101KRYZ-01 JPDB0 drives in a RAID 6 configuration. One drive is developing a fault.

Thank you for responding to my post. My concern is that as I understand it the discs in a RAID need to be virtually identical and so I am uncomfortable replacing one but I do not have the budget to replace all.

You just need a replacement CMR drive of the same capacity, and preferably similar performance or better. In fact some people claim that a RAID is more reliable if it consists of dissimilar drives for improved redundancy.
