Does anyone know any way to remotely turn on and off the My Book Live HD from your iPad or iPhone? Since the drive is at home and I am usually out in the field I need a way to access my files where ever I am but the problem is I was told it is not a good idea to leave the hard drive on all the time. And on the flip side I was going to hook it up to my home automation system that allows me to turn of the power to the hard drive from my phone, but I was told that even though the drive is not in use by me when I turn it off they told me it is still sending and receiving info to Western Digital about updates - firmware etc?? Don’t know how true all that is but if anyone has any ideas please let me know. Thanks

Of course, it’s a matter of opinion, but I find that to be nonsense…
