I have set up MyCloud and it works fine within the network but there is no remote access at all (either via the desktop app or mobile app). I reckon from googleing around that this is related to the Airport Extreme network settings not allowing access from outside the network.
I couldn’t find any guide for how to set this up properly which is a bit annoying given that I expected it to work seamlessly with Apple hardware. Could you please give me a step by step guide for how to set up access with the latest version of Airport Utilty?
Hello, you need to open the ports 80 and 443, from the Airport Extreme Settings. Checking the Airport Extreme manual you should be able to find the steps.
tahnks for your help. I was able to establish a ‘relay connection’ but idelaly want a diret connection. I opened the ports 80 and 443 in airport utility. Any idea what I need to do to establish a direct connection?
