Is there a way to get the drive back to the way it was when purchased once formated to a MAC or PC?

Depending on the drive that you have, you can always reformat the drive to change the file system. Please note that formatting the drive will erase all the information on the unit.

Sorry but this doesn’t help. I’m trying to connect the WD Hard Drive to an Echostar Sattelite Receiver and all I can get is a format error. I’ve heard that once the HD was used on a Mac or Windows computer it will not format on a Sattelite receiver so I would like to reinitialize it to original, from the box state. Any ideas?
