Recover WD Scorpio Black 500GB HDD

Hi,

I have a WD Scorpio Black 500GB HDD (model no. WD5000BEKT - 75KA9t0) and it is DEAD. Its not spinning up at all and there’s no sound. I googled about it a little and have read that it could be possibly be the PCB or TVS Diode but I am not sure.

What could possibly be wrong? Is it possible for me to repair it MYSELF? Please help.

Thanks.

Repairing the drive is not the best bet since you could end up damaging the drive further.

Also, the warranty will be voided.

Have you contact support and verify if the drive could be replaced under warranty?
