I need your help. I no longer have access to my data, which became inaccessible after a hard drive failure.
General Info:
- NAS System: WD My Cloud EX2 Ultra (purchased 2019).
- Raid 1 (Both mirrored 1to1).
- 2 x 6TB(5,94TB) WD Red
- approx. 4.5TB Used
- 2 Users
- 1 Shared drive / share
- 1 Private drive / share each
History:

one LED has lit red

harddisk (A) was faulty - DiskDrill shows ~2000 bad sectors

the shares were gone

tried to add the shares again

ticket contact with WD
5.1. recommendation of a new harddisk -
new “hard drive C” (WD RED 6 TB) was bought and installed

raid was restored and all was well

shortly after both LEDs were red and I couldn’t access anything (don’t understand why)

harddisk B and C were not accessible anymore

raid rebuilt harddisks (B and C) had to be formatted in the process

contact with WD support unfortunately without success.
11.1. data recovery or bad luck
My current attempts:
- Harddisk A (which was considered defective) connected to PC
- With DiskDrill (bought) read out, after 16 hours ~1 million data (2.8TB) found
- Unfortunately not the original filename
- Unfortunately not the original path to be able to assign the data
- Read out with Stellaris Data Recovery (bought), after 16 hours ~70k data (1 TB) found
- Unfortunately not the original filename
- Unfortunately not the original path to be able to match the data
- With Recuva (trial version) no real success had
- With dmde (purchased) had no real success
What can I do to get the data back?
- Preferably with the original filename and file path.
My ideas:
- Access the data with Linux? Unfortunately it fails because of the VirtualBox
- Is it possible without a Recover-Tool?
- With a Linux Recover tool
- Try data recovery with other recovery tools
- Go to data recovery professionals (depending on cost)
- The data laboriously rename, sort and read out piece by piece by hand. Is unfortunately with 4.5 TB very laborious without file names and path and thousands of temp data
- remove the currently installed hard disks (B and C) and also read them out with a Recover-Tool
- So from 3(A, B and C) make 1 (D(factory new))
Additional info:
- I bought a fourth hard drive (D) (arrives in 2-4 days) to possibly recovered data,
on a neutral, unused disk.

5.1. Empfehlung einer neuen Festplatte -
Neue “Festplatte C” (WD RED 6 TB) gekauft und eingebaut

Raid wurde wiederhersgestellt und alles war gut

Kurz darauf waren beide LEDs rot und ich konnte auf nichts mehr zugreifen (verstehe nicht warum)

Festplatte B und C waren also nicht mehr erreichbar

Raid neu aufgebaut Festplatten (B und C) mussten dabei formatiert werden

Meine aktuellen Versuche:

- Mit DiskDrill (gekauft) ausgelesen, nach 16 Stunden ~1 Million Daten (2,8TB) gefunden
- Leider nicht der Originale Dateiname
- Leider nicht der originale Pfad, um die Daten zuordnen zu können
- Mit Stellaris Data Recovery (gekauft) ausgelesen, nach 16 Stunden ~70k Daten (1 TB) gefunden
- Leider nicht der Originale Dateiname

- Mit Recuva (Testversion) keinen wirklichen Erfolg gehabt
- MIt dmde (gekauft) keinen wirklichen Erfolg gehabt
Was kann ich tun um die Daten wiederzubekommen?
- Am besten mit dem Original-Dateinamen und dem Original-Dateipfad
Meine Ideen:
- Mit Linux auf die Daten zugfreifen? Leider scheitert es an der VirtualBox
- Geht das ohne Recover-Tool?
- Mit einem Linux-Recover-Tool
- Mit anderen Recover-Tools die Datenrettung probieren
- Zu Datenretter-Profis gehen (je nach kosten)
- Die Daten mühevoll umbenennen, sortieren und stück für stück per Hand auslesen. Ist leider bei 4,5 TB sehr mühsam ohne Dateinamen und Pfad und tausenden Temp-Daten
- die aktuell verbauten Festplatten (B und C) ausbauen und ebenfalls mit einem Recover-Tool auslesen
- Also aus 3(A, B und C) mach 1 (D(Fabrikneue))
Zusatzinfo:
- Ich habe eine vierte Festplatte (D) gekauft (kommt in 2-4 Tagen an), um evtl. wiederhergestellt Daten,
auf eine neutrale, unbenutzte Platte schieben zu können.
