Reallocated Sector Count : failing. HELP!

These are the screenshots of the SMART details read by the Disk Utility.

  1. Is there any option other than replacing the hard drive?

2)Also if I wipe clean the HDD apart from the partition with the Linux OS and leave the rest as unallocated free space, will the same error be reported?

Please help!

Hello,

Based on the test result I recommend that you get this unit replaced.

If the drive is still under warranty you may create an RMA online or contact Western Digital phone support.

How to get an RMA, (Return Merchandise Authorization) or replace a defective product under warranty

Like HDKnows says, I think it’s better if you replace the hard drive.
