'Ready to perform backup' but doesn't

I have a new 500gb passport drive, trying to back up for the first time. The software has mapped my files, and now shows my internal hard drive with the yellow sectors. I get the message ‘ready to back up’ and select the ‘start backup’ option, but nothing happens. No transfer, no files getting copied… When I select ‘stop backup’ it asks if I’m sure, etc, but even stopping and starting doesn’t make a difference.

Also, the drive won’t eject properly, even when I shut the software down. It tells me the drive is still in use, leaving me no option to manually disconnect without ejecting correctly.


If you are using Smartware, be sure to install the latest version. If you do have the latest version, uninstall it and then reinstall it a gain.
