Hello, I have an internal hard drive, 2TB Caviar Black.

 Adquir in less than a year, but only now that I took the package and installed. With only one month of use, start the computer runs more slowly.

Now to start my computer, this message appears: SMART status BAD I can not access the computer normally. 8 windows installed try to recover, but is unsuccessful. (although I have nothing important to be recovered).

Does this HD 2TB CAVIAR BLACK is defective?

Hi yes you need to rma the drive you can go here and check the warranty on the drive by putting in the serial number and if that’s ok you can start the rma process from there also.   http://support.wdc.com/warranty/index_end.asp?lang=en
