Re-Initialize WAVE protected drive

Hi experts,

I purchased a 8TB HGST harddisk. I is used, but the SMART data says the drive is in good health condition. Unfortunately the drive appears to be protected by WAVE or somehing similar. Result is, that I cannot delete the partition. In “the old times” I would have used a program like ATBUS to trigger the low-level format routine. For the new drive, I don’t find such program. All software I found directly tries to write the sectors - which obviously fails.
I checked the forum on this - but nothing found…
Does anyone know how to bring the drive in “unprotected” state, hence trigger the - as I suppose - internal self initialization routine?

Many thanks for your help!

Klaus
