For the 'Backup" is it a true back up? in other words, if the app backs up an image to the WD MyCloud drive and I later delete the image from my phone, will it still reside on the MyCloud Drive, or will it also delete there?
I am looking to free some space on my iPhone and need to know if I need to export and upload them separately.

Do you use WD Sync? If no, then it will not delete from the My Cloud, only from your phone so then you don’t have a backup, just the image on your My Cloud.
I am using the MyCloud iOS app. I think that it should only backup, and not sync.
I have the sync app on my Mac, but that it different. The iPhone images go to a different folder.
I will test by deleting an image to see how it works.
YES it is a true backup.
After the photo and video are backed up to the My Cloud, you can delete the photo and video from your iOS device.
