I am interested in purchasing a replacement power adapter for my external hard drive.
The model number for the hard drive is 1200B015. I found an item offered on newegg.
The product description says it is compatible with the original, but it also says to
make sure the output and tip size is correct. However, it doesn’t give this information.
I also found what APPEARS to be the same item on the Ablegrid web site (this forum won’t let me post either link, unfortunately). They are both made by the same company. The representative on the online chat at Ablegrid would only give the info for the model listed on Ablegrid.com, not on newegg.com. She gave 5.5/2.5mm for the tip size. On my external hard drive, it reads “12VDC” next to the connector port. Is this the output? Is there any chance that either item might not work with or be suitable for my external hard drive? I just want to make sure to buy the right one! Thanks in advance!
