Question about internal drive

I have a HP computer with a terabite drive in it.

Safely put the systen is currently dead.Either motherboard and/or cpu.

My question is this-is it possible to transfer the data from this drive to an older IDE drive?
There is stuff on this drive that I need.

That shouldn’t be a problem. If the motherboard doesn’t support both interfaces, then you could always install the drive in an external USB enclosure.

So if I understand you correctly,I really don’t have to try and get the data off the drive,I can just treat it as an external drive.

I would I assume be able to access the drive? Is my assumption correct?
