Public Share profile in the Dashboard, but can't access it in Windows Explorer

Product: MyCloudEX4

Issue: I can’t access the Public share via Windows Explorer

Details:
I am no longer able to see my drive’s Public share in Windows Explorer. When I go to “This PC” and select WDMyCloudEX4 under Network Locations, I see three folders (Music, Photos, Videos) but no shares.

When I access my device’s dashboard, I can see that there is still a profile for a Public share and that my account has access to it.

I recently performed a soft reset on my device, but I could still access the public share after that, so I don’t think that’s the problem. The share just stopped showing up for me in Windows Explorer for no reason that I know of.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Edit: I should also mention that my Public share is still available to view via the IOS app. Thanks.

Hi @EddieAdams,

We request you to map the drive first to access and store data on a My Cloud device.

Mapping one or more shares is recommended. This section contains detailed steps to help map a network drive using different methods.

Please refer to this KB article: How to Map Network Drive on Windows for WD My Cloud

Mapping the public share as a drive worked for me, I am good now. Thanks!
