How does one easily see the properties of top level shares? I’m using Windows 7. In the file explorer I see the shares on the network which internally house many folders. I’m trying to gauge the size of the total top level share to decide certain backup strategies. In the internal files, I can right click and select properties to see details like size, read only, etc. However that is not available for the top level share. How can I see this information easily?
Never mind… I simply entered the top level share, selected all interior files and folders, right clicked and selected properties. For some reason it takes a while for the tally of file size takes a bit to run, so it appeared that this option wouldn’t work. With a bit of patience, the total file size appeared after a while. Yikes!
