Problems with accessing and copying files with WD My Passport for Mac

Hi, when I connect my WD My Passport to my Mac it shows up but when I click a folder I only see the loading icon but no files, and when I try to copy files to my Mac it just says “preparing to copy”. It also takes a long time to eject the disk.

I tried to connect the drive to a different USB port, used a different cable and a different computer. It’s always the same issue. I was running First Aid and it says:

Repairing file system.
Volume could not be unmounted.
Restoring the original state found as mounted.
Unable to unmount volume for repair: (-69673)
Operation failed…

Any advice on how to access my data?
