Problems switching to wired network

I have a WD Live TV unit that is currently connected via a wireless connection to my NetGear 300 router.  When I insert a cat5 network cable between the router and the WD box it just won’t connect. 

If I pull the power from the WD live box and let it try to connect as part of bootup then it shows a completely weird IP address in the network settings.

Any suggestions?

Hello,

Try to do a factory reset on the media player. Also make sure that the setting on your media player are set to DHCP so the unit can get an Ip from the router. 

Also reset your router so it can re-discover the device.
