Problem with Window XP machine and WD SmartWare

I just bought a WD My book.

I installed WD SmartWare on two Win 7 machines without problem. The Backup went fine on both marchine. The program menus work as « designed ».

Then I installed WD SmartWare on two Win XP - SP3 machines. Installation went fine but… the menu don’t work smoothly.

Cannot access Backup tab or click on the « State of the backup » button (small clock) at the bottom.

Any suggestions ?

Make sure that the drive is being detected properly.

Is the retrieve tab also greyed out?

If the drive is being detected by the computer properly, make sure that you computer has all the recent updates for JAVA and all the computer updates are installed.
