Problem installing a 3TB green harddisk

I bought a green WD 3TB harddisk. Upon installing to my Compaq SR5930CF, the system only recognize 746GB initially. I proceed to HP website update the BIOS (2010-08-06 , Version:5.43, 1.61M). See link below

However, the matter worsens after the update. Now my PC cannot even boot up, a loud “beep, beep, beep’ was heard during up. However when I pull the cable of WD 3TB harddisk, it mange to run perfectly. 3TB is installed as  my second drive.

You need to be sure that your motherboard supports 3TB HDD’s, if not you will run into this type of problem.

Hmm. You might want to exchange it for a 2 TB HD.
