Problem in formatting WD external hard drives

Hi, I have formatted my WD external hard drive with step-by-step given fromhttp://support.wdc.com/knowledgebase/answer.aspx?ID=3865#win10

but at the end, it gave me result like this “The format did not complete successfully” and “The paramater is incorrect” . I would appreciate me someone could help me.
