Before firmware upgrade does user have to move his files in another location in order to prevent data loss or is not nessesary?
There is not need to move the files but it wouldnt hurt if you want to be safe.
Firmware updateing are instructions on how the drive functions therefor do not effect the data.
Also make sure that there is not a risk of power failure or interruption during the firmware update as this can cause you unit to be UNUSABLE
firmware is designed to be used as a troubleshooting solution to a specific issue
