PR4100 Backup to local external drives? Settings?

I would like to backup my drive to 2-4 external drives 2x per month. Currently about 11TB, JBOD. Maybe 1 external drive for each volume on the NAS.

What would be the best way to do this? Is there a way to sync changes only so that it doesn’t need write the entire 11TB each time?

I already have a cloud backup that works. I’m looking for a 3rd backup option to keep local.

Hi @Cfoxcvg,

TY, I emailed them the other day but have not gotten a reply yet. I will see what they have to say. I just purchased 3 new RED Pro drives for this NAS and this is the time to make changes if any. I am surprised I don’t find more info on this as I have seen many people recommend doing it but nobody details the setup.

Try the app Internal Backups in der WD Dashboard under Apps.
You can download it in the App Store on said page.

Alternatively you can try more advanced apps like Syncthing, GoodSync or RClone, but these are not in the App Store. You will have to search for these as I can’t find the original repository anymore.

But here is what I found but didn’t test: A Google drive folder containing multiple apps:
