So I have a 4TB external MyBook HDD which is no longer functioning. The PCB seems destroyed but I honestly have no real idea where to start on this. I’ve done research online and some people seem to have had success with removing the broken diodes with a soldering iron. I may take a multi meter to it later but i’m not sure what readings in particular to look for. I’ve also read that these drives have hardware encryption, so I suppose popping it into a new enclosure would be a no go?
