When I push the power on button, I can hear a small noise inside that sounds like a clock ticking. But the power light never comes on. Any ideas what is the matter?

Thank you for taking the time to post the suggestion. The link was indirectly helpful in that the drive isn’t powering up so based on the steps outlined, the problem is the drive. I’ll have to see if I can extract the data or fall to my backup.
