Power light when starting, goes out after a few minutes, and no access. Am I dead in the water?

My (now a little old) MyCloud device has disappeared from the network. No access from Windows or the internet, pings not returned. When I cycle the power, the front power light glows steadily yellow-white for a few minutes then goes out. The ethernet lights are flashing, and it gives a gentle rumble which I think is the fan so I’m reasonably confident there is power. And I think I can hear a hard drive seeking merrily away.

Anyone think this sounds repairable / recoverable and have any ideas how to go about it?

From what you have written this sounds like a 1st generation My Cloud and that it is still working but the front LED no longer shows Blue. This happens, mine hasn’t shown the Blue LED for some time now but it still works.

Are you able to open the Dashboard? Do you happen to have WD QuickView? See image below.

Are you saying you are unable to use it at files.mycloud.com ?
