Do I need to power off the external hard drive when I power off the pc? I get a light around the “Auto backup” button but not the power button so I never know if it is on or not.
Depending on the model it may turn off automatically or enter in standby mode.
The drive does not need to be powered off
when the computer turns off it will go on hibernation
