Power and screensaver, but nothing else!

Hello guys.

I bought my WDTV Play today, and hooked everything up as required.

I have a power light, but nothing shows on the TV screen on either HDMI or Component settings.

However, if i leave it for a few minutes, I get the WD Screensaver showing on my screen, and if i press the power off button, i see the WD Splash Screen showing for a split second.

What could be the problem? Have tried on all 3 HDMI ports and on the Component plug too. I don’t have them plugged in at the same time, i’m removing one before trying the other.

I’ve also tried the reset button a couple of times too.

There’s nothing wrong with any of the ports as my PS3 works perfectly fine on them.

The network can also see the WDTV device, but I can’t pair it as it asks for an access code which i assume I can’t get unless i can access the settings on the device

What is the model number of your player?

Have you tried the composite output?

The WDTV Play doesn’t have Component Video output, so that would explain why you see nothing there…

Sure it does, jack in one end and composite in other

Figured it out?

Have same issue, on both Philips and Samsung HD TVs

He said component, not composite.

Please tell me you figured this out! I just got mine today and am having the exact same problem.

I used the reset on the bottom and everything loaded
